Town email receives positive feedback
A little over a year ago, the Corporation of Shepherdstown initiated a new email list to promote better communication from the town to area residents.
Well over 500 people have joined, allowing town government to communicate more effectively about upcoming events, town council meetings, issues needing immediate attention and general informational items. Virtually all of the feedback we’ve received about the list has been quite positive.
I’d like to encourage all area residents who have not yet signed up for the list to do so. It’s free and easy to do. Simply go to the town website (www.shepherstown.us). You’ll see an orange “box” in the upper right section of the main page that says “Town Email List.” Just click on the box, and a brief information sheet will open up — you can fill it out and submit it online, and then you’ll be added to the list.
First, please know that we are committed to not bombarding you with tons of emails, and we only communicate about town events and business. Second, be assured that it is not a “discussion list” — that is, you won’t receive multiple responses from residents commenting about the items in our emails. It is a simple, one-way method for the town to help keep residents informed about important issues and events.
If you have any questions about the list, please contact either me via my email address (marty.amerikaner@shepherdstown.us) or Town Clerk Amy Boyd (clerk@shepherdstown.us).
