Continue to act for the common good
Shepherdstown, I am eternally grateful for the support I have received from our community during my two decades as mayor.
Common good has always been my guide. My decisions have always been assessed by, “How does this benefit the citizens of Shepherdstown?” I am certain my efforts have been appreciated, from the installation of the new water tanks, curbing and street paving to doggie pots, along with many more projects that have improved the livability of our community. To that end, I thank the many volunteers that have contributed to these accomplishments. I also want to thank the women and men that graciously work for the town. We are fortunate to have these knowledgeable hard-working people as part of our community. It has been an honor to work with them day-to-day and, sometimes, even in the middle of the night. Additionally, I want to thank the council members that are ending their terms, for the work they have done for all of us, and the newly elected council members and mayor, for their willingness to serve the town.
We are fortunate to live in the oldest town in West Virginia and it is our responsibility to maintain its character. In Shepherdstown we care for and love our friends, neighbors and all creatures great and small. The Shepherdstown community has the reputation for assisting others that need our help. Let us continue to do the things we do well, for the common good.
