Obituary–Goodman

Wesley Penn Goodman passed away Jan. 10, 2013.

He was born July 8, 1947 in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Ruth Miriam Nugent and Alexander Hunter Goodman.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1969 in the 101st Airborne Infantry Division, in Vietnam, and with the 41st Field Artillery Division in Germany. He was honorably discharged as a decorated combat veteran with disability.

He had a Master’s of Social Work degree, and a career in providing coaching, counseling and training services to public and private organizations in Portland and Salem, Oregon, Winchester, Va., and Martinsburg.

He was an accomplished musician, composer, writer and visual artist. Wes was an independent spirit, analytical and creative thinker, comprehensive researcher and articulate wordsmith.

He was a member of MENSA, Vietnam Veterans of America, and Disabled American Veterans.

He is survived by his adopted family, Marty and Nan Broadhurst, and loving friends.
