High-scoring basketball sisters Kate Bulger and Meg Bulger and record-setting football quarterback Marc Bulger were among the all-time greats in Morgantown, in their respective sports.
Marc Bulger is the elder brother of Kate and Meg. He was the first to pepper the West Virginia University record books with his career passing yardage, touchdown passes and three bowl game appearances.
As a three-year starter for Don Nehlen-coached teams, Marc finished a stellar career with 8,153 passing yards and 61 TD passes.
When he left for the St. Louis Rams, he carried 25 school passing records with him.

Marc Bulger
One of the more lofty records he achieved at WVU, was the day when he threw six touchdown passes against the University of Pittsburg.
In the NFL, he had 122 TD passes playing for the Rams.
WVU inducted him into the Hall of Fame in 2010. Later, he became an inaugural member of WVU’s Mountaineer Legends in 2016.
Kate Bulger came along just after her brother matriculated to the NFL.
Kate was so successful on the hardwood, that she became the first Mountaineer ever drafted by the WNBA.

Meg Bulger
In all four of her seasons as a decorated Mountaineer, she was given Big East Conference honors on its post-season all-league teams.
In her career at WVU, Kate scored 1,732 points (sixth all-time on the school’s career list) and started every game.
She was enshrined in 2018. Kate graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communications and then earned two master’s degrees at other schools. She is currently a principal at a kindergarten through eighth grade school in Chandler, Ariz.
The youngest of the three athletically prominent Bulgers is Meg, who played basketball at WVU from 2005-2008.
She missed the entire 2006-2007 season, with a knee injury, but still managed to score 1,665 points in her three seasons.
She was a team captain in one season and was accorded honorable mention All-American recognition as a senior.
She was enshrined in the WVU Hall of Fame in 2019.
A multi-disciplinary studies major with a concentration in English, communications and sports psychology, she has worked in the family business in Pittsburgh and also as an analyst for the Mountaineer Sports Network’s women’s basketball broadcasts.
It is very unusual to not only have three siblings play at the same college, but to also have all three do so well, that they could reap both school honors and conference and national recognition. That accomplishment is practically unheard of in NCAA Division I circles.
Two sisters and a brother, all three being cited in the university’s record books, and two playing in professional leagues and then all being joined in the Athletic Hall of Fame is quite an accomplishment.
