SU volleyball downs Wilmington

Sophomore middle hitter Meg Kenny (Lynchburg, VA/E.C. Glass) recorded 10 kills, seven digs, and three blocks to lead Shepherd University to a 3-0 win over Wilmington University in volleyball action at the Butcher Center on Tuesday evening. The Rams recorded a 25-17, 25-19, 25-21 victory.

Senior setter Lauren Jeschelnik (Huntingtown, MD/Huntingtown) had a double-double with 23 assists and 11 digs, while sophomore right side/middle hitter Melani Lewis (Bay Shore, NY/Brentwood) added seven kills.

Freshman defensive specialist Taylor Belella (Smithsburg, MD/Smithsburg) contributed 10 digs.

Kaitlin Shorter had 10 kills to lead the Wildcats.

Shepherd improves to 16-14, while Wilmington falls to 19-9. The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Shippensburg for a 7 p.m. match.
