JHS wrestling battles it out in Virginia

The Cougar wrestlers battled five teams at the Warren County duals in Virginia this past weekend; facing teams from Stonewall Jackson, Oakton, William Monroe, Warren County and Monticello high schools.

Lane Harder, at the 220 weight class, won all five of his matches at the Warren County Duals raising his early season record to 14-1; 9 of them were pins.

He also has joined the 50 plus club having 56 wins in his high school wrestling career. As a junior in high school, he is well on his way to making the 100 plus club before he graduates next year.

Also winning all 5 of his matches was the Cougar Captain, Keynan Williams (182 pounds); He pinned all of his opponents. He is now 25 wins away from making the 100 + win club for his Jefferson High School wrestling career.

Senior, Cody Butts (132 pounds) continued his countdown towards the 100 + club with four victories, giving him a total of 86 wins, 14 more wins to go.

Junior, Levi Spickler (138 pounds) and sophomore, AJ Pierson (170 pounds) both had three wins.

Shane Moore (152 pounds) returned to action after breaking his nose at the beginning of the season and showed his valiance by beating two of his opponents, one of them by a pin.
