Senior first baseman Nathan Minnich (Waynesboro, PA/Waynesboro Area) of the Shepherd University baseball team has been named to the 2012 NCBWA Division II Preseason All-America Team. Minnich was a first team selection.

Minnich, who finished eighth in the 2011 Tino Martinez DII Player of the Year Award balloting, batted .433 for the Rams with 52 hits in 120 at-bats last year. He ranked among the national leaders in several categories. He was second in on-base percentage (.553), third in slugging percentage (.858), and fourth in home runs per game (0.38). His .433 batting average ranked him eighth.

The Rams open the 2012 campaign on February 10 when they face Pfeiffer in Asheboro, N.C.
