Senior outside hitter/libero Kasey Mercier (Baltimore, MD/Mount de Sales Academy) of the Shepherd University volleyball team has been named the WVIAC Volleyball Player of the Week, as announced by the league office.

Mercier guided the Rams to a 2-0 week. Her performance helped Shepherd move into the No. 8 spot, allowing the squad to host West Virginia Wesleyan on Monday night in the first round of the WVIAC Tournament.

Against Davis & Elkins, she slammed home 12 kills and had 16 digs to go along with an ace. In the upset of Alderson-Broaddus, Mercier accounted for 12 kills, 14 digs and three aces. She also chipped in a block assist.
