Senior forward Chad Moore (Winchester, VA/John Handley) of the Shepherd University men’s basketball team has been named the WVIAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, as announced by the league office.

Moore led the Rams to a 1-1 week. He averaged 27.5 points and 11 rebounds in the season-opening weekend. Moore chipped in eight steals, seven assists, and two blocks.

In the victory over Bowie State, he produced a 31-point, 12-rebound performance. He canned 12-of-21 from the floor, had five steals, five offensive rebounds and three assists. Moore drained nine-of-17 shots, dished out four assists and had three steals against East Stroudsburg. In the two games, he also drained 80 percent of his foul shots.

Moore was also named to the Clarion Hotel Tipoff Classic All-Classic Team.
