Little League holding registration

By Staff | Feb 7, 2014

The Jefferson County Little League will hold registrations for the upcoming season beginning Feb. 8 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Charles Town Middle School. Registration will also be held the following Saturdays, Feb. 15 and 22 during the same hours. Evening registrations will be held Feb. 11 and Feb. 19 from 6 to 8 p.m., also at Charles Town Middle School.

Cost for registration is $120 for the first child and $110 for additional children (up to five). If registering more than 5 children per family, the cost for the 6th and beyond would be $50 each. With that registration fee, each player will receive 10 $5 raffle tickets that can be sold in order to recoup a portion of their cost.

Specific documents are required for registration. A list of those may be found at the League website at www.eteamz.com/jcllplayball .

This year marks Little League International’s 75th Diamond anniversary, the 40th anniversary of Little League Softball, and JCLL’s 61st year of service to the local community. Along with Spring baseball/softball sign ups, the league will be selling game tickets for the Orioles and Keys, raffling off the opportunity to represent JCLL on the field at the Orioles game in June, offering a huge assortment of great prizes for raffle, and setting up a JCLL Trading Post to offer gently used equipment and apparel to players in need. There will also be some special mascot appearances by Keyote from the Frederick Keys (Saturday, Feb. 8) and the Chick-fil-A cow (Saturday, Feb. 15).
