EPIC Soccer opens registration for travel and instructional programs
EPIC Soccer Club has opened registration for youth instructional programs and tryouts for travel teams for the Fall 2014 and Spring 2015 seasons.
Information sessions and tryouts will be held May 27-30 at the recreational fields located in the back of the Martinsburg VA Medical Center for youth playing in age groups U5 U14. Boy’s sessions will be held from 6 8 p.m. on May 27 and May 29. Girl’s sessions will take place from 6 8 p.m. on May 28 and May 30.
EPIC offers a number of programs for the area’s youth soccer players based on age and skill level. The club’s travel soccer program (U8-U19) is for serious players who commit to the number of practices and game opportunities in the Fall and Spring that is provided and supported by the EPIC Soccer Club. Tryouts for teams in the U8-U14 age groups will take place as specified above.
The EPIC Prep Program is for developing players in divisions U9 to U14. These players have the same experiences as other travel team members while building skills and confidence but without the commitment of travel games. A player may choose to play travel games at some point in the year if it is agreed upon by the team’s coaching staff.
The EPIC Developmental Academy Program (EDAP) is for players in the U6 to U8 age groups. The EDAP program runs August through the following May. There are no tryouts held to join the program and players simply need register.
New this year is a U5 Program for players who are just learning the game of soccer. The group will meet for four Fridays in the fall and four Fridays in the spring from 6-7 p.m. where players will receive instruction in a fun environment from nationally accredited youth coaches.
EPIC Soccer Club is celebrating its 20th year as the premiere travel-sanctioned youth soccer club in the Eastern Panhandle. EPIC has won 19 WVSA State Cup championships in that time and has advanced 11 of its 14 teams to the semi-finals of this year’s competition. The club also has many past and current players continuing their playing careers at the college level and has placed several players on the West Virginia Olympic Development Program teams.
