Registration underway for Jefferson County Youth Football and Cheer

The Jefferson County Youth Football League is now taking registrations for the upcoming season. Registration for football players and cheerleaders will be held the following dates and times: June 2, 6-7:30 p.m.; June 4 10 a.m.-noon; June 7, 6-7:30 p.m.; June 20, 6-7:30 p.m.; June 27, 6-7:30 p.m.; July 5, 6-7:30 p.m.; July 8, 6-8 p.m. and July 9, 9 to 11 a.m. All registration sessions will be held at the Charles C. Marcus field in Ranson.

Cost to register is $75 per child. All fees must be paid in full by July 9.

Football players will need to provide their own equipment. JCYFL will rent equipment on a first come-first serve basis for $35 for the season. All equipment remains the property of JCYFL and must be returned in good condition at the end of the season or when players stop participation, whichever is first.

Cheerleader fees include the use of uniforms which must be returned at the end of the season.

Cheerleaders will be required to purchase sneakers, socks and hair accessories to be determined by the coaches. Other items will be available but are not mandatory.

Age requirements of the league are that players be ages 6-13 as of Aug. 1, 2016 for football and ages 5-13 for cheerleading.
