Moore named WVIAC co-player of the week

Senior forward Chad Moore (Winchester, VA/John Handley) of the Shepherd University men’s basketball team and West Virginia Wesleyan’s Kelsey Williams have been named Co-WVIAC Men’s Basketball Players of the Week, as announced by the league office.

Moore led the Rams to a 1-1 week. In a 10-point road loss at West Liberty, Moore connected on 13-of-22 shots for a team-best 29 points. He grabbed five rebounds, tallied two steals and swatted a game-high four shots. In the win over West Virginia Wesleyan, Moore erupted for 39 points. He canned 13-of-21 shots from the field and 11-of-12 charity tosses. Moore also had five rebounds and five assists.

Williams, a 6’7″ senior forward from Sandusky, Ohio, led the Bobcats to a 2-1 week with wins over Alderson-Broaddus and Davis & Elkins. Against the Battlers, Williams poured in a team-high 28 points. He also pulled down a team-best eight rebounds and blocked two shots. In the loss at Shepherd, Williams registered 23 points on nine-of-15 shooting in addition to grabbing a game-high nine rebounds. In the win over Davis & Elkins, Williams connected for a game-high 31 points. He picked up game-high accolades with 12 rebounds in addition to two steals. Williams drained the game-winning three-point bucket.
