Shepherd players gains All-WVIAC honors

Senior forward Emily Daniel (Beaver, WV/Shady Spring), sophomore guard Rachel Johnson (Frederick, MD/Frederick), and sophomore center Gabby Flinchum (North Potomac, MD/Wootton) of the Shepherd University women’s basketball team have been named to the 2012-13 All-WVIAC Women’s Basketball Team.

Daniel, a second team selection, leads the Rams in scoring (14.3 ppg) and rebounding (7.5 rpg). She is second in steals (1.7 spg) and third in assists (2.3 apg). Daniel led the team in scoring on 10 occasions and in rebounding 13 times. She has five double-doubles on the year.

Johnson, second team choice, is second on the team in scoring (13.9 ppg) and assists (2.8 apg). Her .811 free throw percentage is also second on the team. She led the team in scoring on 10 occasions.

Flinchum, an honorable mention selection, leads the Rams in field goal percentage (.516) and blocked shots (50). She is third on the team in scoring (12.2 ppg) and rebounding (5.7 rpg). Flinchum led the team in scoring on five occasions and in rebounding six times. She has three double-doubles on the season.
