Junior catcher Carly Schmidt (Leesburg, VA/Heritage/Patrick Henry CC) of the Shepherd University softball team has been named the WVIAC Player of the Week as announced by the league office.

Schmidt propelled the Rams to a 6-0 week. She registered a .667 batting average on 12 hits in just 18 at bats. Schmidt drove in 12 runs and crossed home plate eight times. She had two round-trippers, a double and swiped a base.
