Sophomore kicker Ryan Earls (Stevensville, Md./Kent Island) of the Shepherd University football team has been named Mountain East Conference Special Teams Player of the Week for his outstanding effort in Shepherd’s 42-17 win over UVa-Wise on Saturday.

Earls tied a school record (John Duke vs. WV State, 10/27/90) with four field goals in four attempts against UVa-Wise. He connected on field goals from 24, 35, 36, and 29 yard against the Cavaliers. He was also 3-of-3 on point after attempts and had a pair of touchbacks on kickoffs.
