Shepherd has named its new women’s basketball and volleyball coaches.

Named to the basketball post was Jenna Eckleberry, a seven-year assistant at Fairmont State of the Mountain East Conference. Eckleberry played for three years at Fairmont after a transfer from Robert Morris in Pennsylvania.

While an assistant for head coach Steve McDonald, Eckleberry helped the Fighting Falcons win three WVIAC championships and make three visits to the NCAA Division II national tournament.

She is a native of Chester, WV.

Eckleberry assumes control of a team that was 4-23 last season and finished 11th in the 12-school Mountain East Conference.

Camilo Guerci was named the head coach of the volleyball team.

For the past three years, Guerci has been one of two assistant volleyball coaches at Fairmont.

Before coming to Fairmont, he had been a club volleyball coach at North Carolina-Chapel Hill and Cincinnati.

Guerci is a graduate of Mt.Olive in North Carolina. He is originally from Miami, Florida.

He inherits a Shepherd team that had a losing season in the fall of 2013.
