After falling in the Class AAA state championship game, Washington High had some additional reward when girls soccer player Atley Fortney was placed on the West Virginia Soccer Association’s all-state team, a list that contained 23 players.

Jefferson’s boys team was the Class AAA Region II winner and reached the semifinals of the state tournament. The Cougars had Jack Barrat, Teo Garces and Anthony Wenner placed on the West Virginia Soccer Association all-state team. The boys list also contained 23 players.
