Alma (Joan) Cameron

Alma (Joan) Cameron, age 78, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Hospice of the Panhandle.

Born October 11, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Van Burton Cameron, Sr. and Alma (Inscoe) Cameron.

Joan grew up in the Del Ray area of Alexandria, VA and later moved to Shepherdstown, WV where she resided until her death. She worked in human resources at the Department of the Treasury, Bureau of Engraving and Printing in Washington, D.C. until she retired.

She was a member of Fellowship Bible Church in Shenandoah Junction, WV. Joan was in the Choir and enjoyed singing to the Lord. She also enjoyed trips to Charlotte, NC for Samaritan’s Purse to help with the Christmas Child Shoebox packing.

She was preceded in death by brother Van Burton Cameron, Jr, and sisters Barbara Jean Cameron and Velma Ann Spence. She left behind many dear friends and family including Mary Kay Anderson, Ron Cameron, Betty Lupinacci, Dee Snyder, Dorothy Spence, and Tina and Bill Walters.

Graveside services will be private at Mt. Comfort Cemetery in Alexandria, VA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle or the Alzheimer’s Association.
