Michael William Poth

Michael William Poth of Aiken, South Carolina passed away March 12, 2025 surrounded by his wife, daughter and loving family. Mike was born in Levittown, Pennsylvania to William and Maralin Poth on May 26, 1955.

Mike graduated from high school in Martinsburg, West Virginia in 1973. He went on to Virginia Tech and graduated from Shepherd College with a degree in business. Mike moved to Aiken, South Carolina in 1989 and spent the majority of his career at Dixie Narco in Williston, South Carolina. His crowning achievement there was becoming the Director of International Sales. Mike loved his career, and it took him all over the world. He travelled to all corners of the globe, from Tokyo to Sydney, Cape Town to London, and all over the United States. He once travelled over a million miles in a single year.

Mike also loved to tell jokes, golf, fish, read, and watch movies–especially with his granddaughters.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Jackie; his daughter, Cortney Neel and her husband, Scott, of Aiken, South Carolina; his stepsons, Seth Miller of Charleston, South Carolina, and Drew Miller and his wife, Harriet, of London, England. He is also survived by his granddaughters, Maddy and Olivia Neel, and Sawyer Miller and his grandson, Teddy Miller. In addition, he is survived by his sisters, Chris Tanner of Narragansett, Rhode Island, and Nan Bland and her husband, Sam, of Hedgesville, West Virginia.

A visitation was held Friday afternoon, March 14 beginning at 4:00 pm at Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home, 715 East Pine Log Road, Aiken, SC 29803. A memorial service followed at 5:00 pm.
