Cynthia G. Wilson

Cynthia G. Wilson, 69, of Charles Town, WV passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at the Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Facility, Kearneysville, WV. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend.

Cynthia was born Oct. 24, 1955, in Winchester, VA. She was the daughter of the late Edward Gano and Charlotte Peer Gano.

She graduated from Jefferson High School, class of 1973 and received Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education at Shepherd College, class of 1977 and her Master’s Degree in Education from George Mason. She was a Physical Education and Health Teacher for General Smallwood Middle School in Charles County, MD for 35 years.

She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women’s Group where she enjoyed volunteering at the church. She was also a member of the church choir and the hand bell choir. She also enjoyed scrapbooking and was an avid crafter.

She is survived by her daughters, Brianne Wilson (Donald Wilson), of North Beach, MD, Courtney Gibson (Buddy Gibson) of Front Royal, VA; grandchildren, Caroline, Pixie and Everly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her longtime companion and significant other, Jeffrey Todd Anders and brother, Terry Gano.

Services will be held at noon Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at the Asbury United Methodist Church, Charles Town, WV with Rev. Duane Jensen officiating.

Interment will be in Edge Hill Cemetery, Charles Town, WV.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, July 23 at the church.
