Richard Snyder

Richard Alston Snyder, age 77, of Inwood, WV passed away on December 5, 2025, in his home. Rich was born on March 17, 1948, to Hazel and David Snyder of Keyser, WV. He graduated from Keyser High School-Class of 1966. He earned an Associate Degree in Commerce from Potomac State College and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Shepherd College. For 37 years, he was very involved with St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Inwood, WV. He later joined Mt. Zion Episcopal Church in Hedgesville, WV where he faithfully served as a Lector, an Altar Server, a Jr. Warden (as part of the Vestry), an Usher, and a Money Teller. He loved his community family at Mt. Zion and joined them in many church activities.

Rich was a member of the Army National Guard for six years. He loved golfing, fishing, hunting, gardening, and cheering for the Dodgers, Celtics, and Commanders. He enjoyed sharing his garden vegetables with family and friends. He spent most of his career as a purchasing manager, finding the best deals for his employer.

He is survived by his wife, Paula Sue Snyder, with whom he spent 55 years of cherished love and marriage. He is also survived by his two sons and their wives: Christopher and Michele Snyder, and their children Lily and Edward, of Kearneysville, and Michael T. Snyder and Lee A. Lafferty of Martinsburg, WV. He is also survived by his brother Carl Snyder of Keyser, WV.

Services were held on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at Brown’s Funeral Home in Inwood, WV. A visitation was held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a short service officiated by Father G.T. Shramm.
